Golf Set
Your golf set is the stuff you need for a round of golf. It consists of the essentials, such as balls and clubs, and non-essentials, such as a golf getup and shoes, or a high tech bag to go with your new golf cart. Here we will cover the essentials.
At its most basic, all you need for a round of golf is a ball and a club to hit it with. You would not likely make par with a single club, so an entire set of clubs (also called a golf set) is recommended. The clubs are numbered in two categories, the irons and the woods (or drivers). The woods are numbered 3-5, with 3 giving the greatest hitting distance. The woods have large heads with a face almost parallel to the ground when held. The head is attached to a longer shaft than irons or putters to give it more angular velocity.
After the woods the next part of your golf set are the irons. Irons are again numbered from 3-9, with the 3 iron being the longest hitting iron. As the irons rise in number, the slant of the face becomes greater, to provide more loft to the ball. After the irons come the pitching wedge, sand wedge, and putter. These clubs are situational. The two wedges have extremely slanted faces and are used to provide a large amount of lift without as much forward momentum. The putter is meant to be used exclusively on the green to put the ball in the hole.
